Skin changes week to week. Michigan weather, indoor heating, how much water you got through, how much sleep you did not — all of it shows up on your face before it shows up anywhere else.
A rejuvenating facial is the reset. At May Breeze the treatment that does this job is the Classic Facial: 60 minutes, $80, and $75 if it is your first visit. Deep cleansing, exfoliation, a mask, and hydration, in that order, adjusted to whatever your skin is doing that day.
What Your Rejuvenating Facial Includes
Deep Cleansing
Everything else in the hour depends on this step being done properly and gently. The American Academy of Dermatology's everyday guidance is for gentle cleansing rather than aggressive scrubbing, and professional facials should follow the same principle — thorough is not the same as harsh. If your skin is stripped and tight afterwards, something went wrong.
Exfoliation
Surface buildup comes away, which is most of why skin looks brighter walking out than walking in. We describe this in cosmetic terms on purpose: it refreshes how the skin looks and feels. It does not resurface scars or treat pigmentation disorders, and anyone telling you a 60-minute facial does is overselling.
Mask & Intensive Hydration
The mask is matched to what your skin needs on the day, and the finish is hydration. This last part is why the effect lasts more than an afternoon — moisturised skin holds water in its outer layers, and dermatologists recommend regular moisturising as the core of managing dryness.
Is the Classic Facial the Right One?
It is the one to book if your answer to "what is your skin concern?" is "nothing specific — it just looks tired." That is the majority of people, and it is what this facial is built for. Any skin type.
- Skin looks dull and tired, no specific concern — Classic Facial, $80 / 60 min
- Dark spots and uneven tone are the main thing — Brighten Facial, $80 / 60 min
- Congestion and blackheads are the main thing — Deep Cleanse & Hydra Facial, $108 / 90 min
- Dryness and tightness are the main thing — Deep Cleanse & Hydra Facial, $108 / 90 min

Your Sixty Minutes, Step by Step
Nobody explains this and it puts people off booking their first facial, so here is the whole hour.
- Consultation, about five minutes. What your skin has been doing, what you use at home, anything that has made it reactive lately. You stay dressed for this part.
- Cleanse, twice. The first pass lifts makeup, sunscreen and the day off the surface. The second actually cleans the skin underneath it.
- Steam and exfoliation. Warm steam softens the surface so exfoliation can work gently rather than by force. This is the point where skin starts to feel different.
- Extractions where appropriate, and only where appropriate. Selective, not a sweep of the whole face.
- Massage. A few minutes of facial and neck massage while a serum absorbs — the part most guests say they did not expect and would not skip again.
- Mask, chosen after your esthetician has actually seen your skin rather than before.
- Finish: serum, moisturiser, and SPF if you are heading back out into daylight.
You lie down, covered, on a heated bed the whole time. Most people are surprised how much of a facial is quiet — long stretches where a mask is working and nobody is talking. That is not us being unfriendly; it is the treatment.
Afterwards
Skin can look slightly flushed for an hour or two, especially after extractions, and it usually settles into looking notably better by that evening. Leave it alone for the rest of the day — no scrubs, no acids, no retinoid that night — and use sun protection the following morning.
What We Will Not Claim
A facial at May Breeze is cosmetic skincare. It does not detoxify anything, it is not a treatment for acne, rosacea, eczema or any other medical skin condition, and its results are temporary — which is exactly why people book them regularly rather than once.
If you have a persistent skin condition, a dermatologist is the right first call. Come to us afterwards for the maintenance and the hour of quiet.
Between Facials
Cleanse gently, moisturise while skin is still slightly damp, and use sun protection daily — none of which is exciting, and all of which does more for how your skin looks over a year than any single treatment. Most guests find a facial every four to six weeks fits both their skin and their budget.
